无数事实都证明：唯有竞争，才能进步。没有Firefox，IE6估计在N年没升级后，我们还得再用N年。Firefox的出现和不断蚕食IE的市场份额，不但在于功能上促使IE升级跟上，更重要的是在Web标准上给IE巨大的压力(没有Firefox、没有Opera、没有…只是IE一家独大的话，Microsoft当然不会也不用把W3C制定的标准放在眼里，自己爱怎么玩怎么玩喽)。
Firefox的插件网站在繁荣了这么久后，Microsoft终于也按奈不住，这次也仿照Firefox推出了自己的插件网站www.ieaddons.com，插件有免费的，也有收费的，主要分为Security、TimeSavers、Browers、Entertainment四个类别。每个类别中插件按字母排序，也可以在全站搜索插件。
IE7 Beta2用户可以通过浏览器的“工具”菜单访问这个网站进行插件的安装，具体操作是：“工具”->“管理插件”->“更多插件”。
Windows Live Messenger是下一代的MSN Messenger，Microsoft把它统一纳入了Windows Live的品牌下。

Microsoft的一款免费软件SyncToy1.0，主要用于文件的自动备份功能，可以帮助用户从繁重的拷贝、移动及同步不同目录的工作中解脱出来，仅仅根据需要单击几次鼠标进行自定义的设置，就能搞定很多的操作，解决麻烦的数据同步备份问题，可以跟Windows的任务管理器结合使用。

2、MSN Search包括一个独特的baidu和google都没有的搜索Encarta search，微软百科全书；
3、我的搜索第一选择是google，看快照的时候才不得不用baidu。
